Haier’s new R&D center will be dedicated exclusively to dishwashers. “The opening of this center is strategic to achieve the group’s objectives, to become part of the top five home appliance manufacturers in Europe by 2015 and to become one of the biggest players in the market. For 2013, we expect to continue with a strong growth rate and to obtain a 5% market share” says René Aubertin, President and CEO of Haier Europe.
This strategic decision is part of the process of creating the European identity of the brand, which began in 2010 with the appointment of René Aubertin, with the reinforcement of the offices in the different countries and with the creation of a showroom in the new European headquarters located in Paris. The new center will offer undisputed advantages for Haier thanks to customer and market proximity, better demand management, innovative and competitive solutions, and will facilitate the building of the brand image in Europe. In total, more than 15 people collaborate in this center, which has an area of 550m². The products developed will not only target the European market, but will also be destined for the Chinese and American markets.

The Chinese home appliance multinational Haier has terminated its alliance with Fagor in Poland as a series of conditions established in the agreement signed last September have not been fulfilled, as the cooperative informed the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) yesterday.
The multinational Haier, which is listed on the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges, has more than 80,000 employees and a global turnover in 2012 of 25,800 million dollars, intends to take positions in the European market, hence its alliance with Fagor.
Its first project was the construction of a new refrigerator plant in the Polish city of Wroclaw, with an investment of 56 million, in which the contribution of Fagor Electrodomésticos was not monetary, but it was going to provide its real estate assets (land and buildings), as well as machinery and manufacturing molds of the subsidiary that the cooperative has in Wroclaw.
